November 4, 2017 TMAA Tournament
Mr. Russell Lent was awarded his 4th Dan Black Belt by Soke William Cavalier & Grand Master Wayne Schiavi!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! After many years of hard work and dedication to Jon Tong Taekwondo, the martial arts community and all of our students, Mr Lent has earned the distinguished rank of Master, 4th Degree ! With our students competing and instructors judging, the tournament was stopped so that Soke Cavalier could do the honors. Thank you Grand Master Wayne Schiavi, for all you do for Jon Tong and all of us students.

Center Nolan - Blue Belt with Red Stripe Nolan was promoted to his Red Stripe. He is a model student with great concentration, and a committment to perfection. He works hard every class, whether he is training for his next Belt or an upcoming tournament. Nolan has decided to compete in the Weapons division in the next Tournament with the Sai's. He is a many talented individual.
Mike - Yellow Belt Mike is one of those students that will work as hard and as long as it takes to learn his next technique ! Mike is a big man, very flexible with plenty of power. He is a true inspiration to us all and makes us want to be better instructors. Mike is always willing to help other students. He is always early, and if he's not you think somethings wrong :-) Both of these great students worked hard and have shown great improvements, and deserving of this promotion ! Congratulations !!! We are all proud of you :-)

Both William and Aidin have shown great perseverence in their journey, getting stronger, sharper and more dedicated as they progress to Black Belt. William has one more step before grading for his Black Belt, he has shown that he deserves to be next in line to take that step ! This rank also signifies the completion and promotion to assistant instructor. With this rank they will both help us teach other students and show proper techniques that they have learned. These two students have shown a great deal of improvement in co-ordination and all areas of Little Ninjas :-) Great job and dedication to both students and parents on such a great early achievement in a young childs life. We are all very proud of you both. Tiberius was promoted to his Purple Belt. Ti is always full of energy and shows a lot of excitement throughout the class. During this grading he stepped up and improved on class participation and techniques. He has shown better kicks, punches and stances. Great job Ti we are all proud of you.

Above Left Trent Snider - Blue Belt !! Trent completed our Little Ninjas Pragram and has earned the rank of Blue Belt ! With this honor he will now become an assistant instructor and can move into our Taekwondo system. Trent has shown remarkable ability in both his physical training as well as his mental preparation. He was able to call out Ninja Tul One pattern, while performing it. Trent has matured in all aspects of his life and will be a great addition to wherever he goes. And at 7 years old that is quite an accomplishment!! We are all proud of you Trent, Good luck in the future :-) L-R Logan - Purple Belt - Logan really shined tonight also calling out Ninja Tul One. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Miss Alessandra Smith - 1st Degree Black Belt Miss Smith has been an exeptional student from day one. With her ability to memorize second to none, she can learn and retain her Patterns, Self Defense as well the History. She always walks in with a smile and gets right to work stretching and helping others. Alessandra has persevered through adversity recovering from injury and came back stronger to achieve her Black Belt !
Mis Jemini Szabad - First Degreer Black Belt Miss Szabad is a naturally gifted student that brings energy and enthuziasm into every class. Always the perfectionist, Miss Szabad uses power and accuracy in every basic movement and fighting motion. With her abilty to kick high and strong Self Defense she will make a great instructor.
Mrs Linda Lent - Second Degree Black Belt I am a bit biased with Mrs Lent ;-) Mrs Lent is the ultimate student... She studies constantly, whether at the Dojang or at home, Taekwondo is always on her mind. She supports every student and honestly cares for them and the studio. With some of the most devastating elbows and knees she is a formidable opponant. To show how she has matured into her new rank she ran most of this grading and with the help of Master Dawn Vollmer, trained Miss Smith and Miss Szabad for their first degree Black Belt. She performed flawlessly in earning her 2nd Degree Black Belt. We all owe Mrs Lent a debt of grattitude for her contribution to Jon Tong Taekwondo.
These 3 women were put to the test on this day and came out charging, ready willing and able to support and defend themselves against whatever the future may bring !!! If our female students are any indication of what our future holds in store for us.... it is very bright indeed !!! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL ! And thank you for being with us and making us so proud :-)

Miss Gina Krentz - Miss Krentz began her martial arts career in our Little Ninjas Program at the age of 5. She was an exceptional student right from the start. Naturally flexible and an eye for detail in every movement. She completed our Little Ninjas Program and stayed on as an assistant instructor as well as started our Taekwondo Program. In her first year in Taekwondo she attended her first tournament and earned a Gold Metal. She has continuously trained in all areas of Taekwondo and in her most recent tournament receiving 2 Gold metals at the highest level before Black Belt. She has dedicated herself to achieving her Black Belt, and by training with all of our instructors, has increased her ability in Self Defense tremendously. At age 11 she has shown true maturity, hard work and dedication. With our Great Black Belt Women before her, Miss Krentz will continue a great tradition of Skilled, Highly trained and Strong Women that will become and train our future Black Belts !!! Thank You Miss Krentz for joining us :)
Mr. Glen Kailburn - Mr. Kailburn has always been very meticulous about every move, a true technician. Mr. Kailburn came to us, having a very good base in Taekwondo and continued to advance and develop as a great martial artist. He is always polite, pleasant and does everything asked of him. Mr Kailburn at age 13, Is what most men hope to mature into ! That is not an overstatement. Some individuals become strength that others can lean on and learn from, Mr Kailburn is that individual :) His grading highlighted his hard work, drive, determination and heart, as well as great technique and power. Congratulations Sir and Good luck, we would have expected nothing less! Thank you Mr. Kailburn it is and honor and a privilege to know you!!!
